History
A lot has happened to ENS since the
business was founded in 2002. Here are
some of the more interesting things
(rather than the biggest clients or
highest value briefs) that have
happened since...
2002
ENS starts trading in June. BT, Wooden
Spoon and Martin Bayfield sign up as
clients – by August!
2003
Jules Wake joins ENS; the client roster
expands to include EDF Energy and
Granada Media; ENS stages ‘Charitaballs’
at Tate Modern.
2004
The client list starts to read like a who’s
who of sport; ENS wins The Scout
Association and delivers the EDF Energy
international rugby tournament.
2005
ENS works on Bid London and two minutes
after hearing about London’s success, the
English Beach Volleyball Association
hands us a series of briefs; Martin
Bayfield has a Victor Kiam moment and
becomes one of ENS’ Directors.
2006
ENS wins the Brains account and helps
deliver the historic ‘Brawn’ / ‘Brawn Again' /
'Esse’ shirt campaign; ENS undertakes the
launch for sports charity Touraid.
2007
ENS works on the UK smoking ban, stages
a Rugby World Cup stunt for Austin Reed
and launches the Tessa Sanderson Academy
for the London Borough of Newham.
2008
ENS brokers a media partnership for young
2012 hopefuls with the Daily Express; ENS
delivers three projects in the Far East, the
‘Cathay Pacific Feast of Sport’ and two Beijing
Olympic projects for Gleeds.
2009
ENS is handed the PR brief for the Newham
Classic 10K (the first race in the Olympic Park)
as well as the Craig Bellamy Foundation; ENS
works on the Bloodgate and Bath rugby scandals.
2010
ENS creates media stunt ‘STIQ Day’ for The
Online Clinic, is reappointed to The Newham
Classic 10K, secures Ben Kay’s position with ESPN
and during the summer wins four new client
briefs in as many weeks MySkillz, Rugby Expo,
Greenfield Holdings and Pete Richards)
2011
The World Cup meant Rugby dominated things
for our sporting talent; those not playing were
broadcasting and at one point ENS had pundits on
BBC, ITV, Sky, ESPN, Al Jazeera, 5 Live and
TalkSport. With the pre-Olympic buzz came a City
AM brief to develop and deliver their 2012
strategy. New-wins continued with Repskan,
The Ref Zone, RugbyExpo – and some businesses
whose names don’t start with ‘R’. Finally, the
ENS team expanded to include mascot Enso the
Pig – who is permanently ‘on tour’ with the
biggest names in sport - and our new NED and
renowned media figure, Eric Newnham.
2012
Something big is happening this year, yes, ENS
celebrates its 10th Anniversary in the summer –
and LOCOG has kindly organized a few events to
celebrate. Watch this space...
